OUR ATTORNEY

Meet Mercedes Watts, Attorney at Law Juris Doctor

Mercedes is an accomplished Associate Counsel and certified civil mediator with 7+ years of experience representing clients in family law, civil law, and criminal defense matters. She is adept at handling complex caseloads, including conducting trials, negotiating settlements, and advocating for clients. She has strong communication, research, and analytical skills.

 

Mercedes was born and raised in Chicago, IL. She moved to West Michigan while she was still in middle school. Upon graduating from law school, Mercedes returned home to West Michigan and opened her own firm where she practiced primarily family and landlord/tenant law. Her clients were low-income individuals from diverse backgrounds.

 

Mercedes then worked for Legal Services of South-Central Michigan where she, again, practiced family and landlord/tenant law. Mercedes then worked briefly as a prosecutor and for the past several years has been doing criminal defense work. Throughout her entire legal career, Mercedes has strived to help the underprivileged, underserved, unrepresented, and everyone in between.
